Why I Built This Course
The story behind a free, all-levels Italian course — and why nothing in it is locked behind a paywall.
Hi, I'm Garry. I'm English, and I've lived in Ticino — the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland — for more than ten years.
I didn't grow up speaking Italian. I learned it here, the slow way, by living it. And the hardest part usually wasn't the grammar itself — it was finding clear, honest explanations that weren't locked behind a paywall, scattered across a dozen apps, or aimed at someone who already half-understood the language.
This course is the thing I wish I'd had when I started. Every lesson, every level, A1 through C2, is free — no account, no trial, no paywall on the course itself. The only thing that isn't free is a set of bonus audio lessons, and that's there purely as a thank-you for anyone who chooses to support the project — not because the real content is held back.
If something in a lesson doesn't make sense, or you spot a mistake, get in touch — I'd genuinely like to know.
