Privacy Policy
What this site collects, why, and how to change your mind at any time.
Last updated: 20 July 2026
This page explains what alllevelsitalian.com ("this site") collects when you visit, and the choices you have. It's written in plain language rather than dense legal text — that felt more honest for a free course than a wall of boilerplate.
The short version
This course has no accounts, no sign-up, and no forms anywhere on the site. The only things ever tracked are anonymous, aggregate usage stats — which pages are visited, roughly how many people, from which country. Some of that (Google Analytics) only runs once you say yes; a separate, cookie-free traffic count (Cloudflare Web Analytics) runs regardless, but neither one ever collects anything that could identify you.
Analytics & cookies
If you accept, this site uses Google Analytics to see which lessons are actually useful, so future lessons can be built accordingly. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and collects things like which pages you visit, how long you stay, your approximate location (city/country level, from your IP address), and general device and browser information. It does not collect your name, email, or anything else that identifies you personally — and this site never sees or stores that data directly. It goes to Google, governed by Google's own privacy policy.
You can change this choice at any time, either from the banner shown on your first visit or right here:
Current choice: Not yet chosen
Separately, this site also uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first traffic tool that runs regardless of the choice above. It doesn't use cookies, doesn't store your IP address, and doesn't collect anything that could identify you — only aggregate figures like how many pages were viewed. Because it doesn't process any personal data, no consent is required for it under GDPR/FADP, and there's nothing to opt out of.
What this site stores on your device
A few small values live in your browser's local storage only — never sent to any server:
- Your cookie choice, so you're not asked again on every visit
- Your light/dark theme preference
- Which lessons you've marked complete, and which one you opened most recently — so the site can show your progress and offer a "Continue Learning" link
Clearing your browser's site data resets all of it.
What this site doesn't do
- No accounts or sign-up — there's no password or profile to protect or lose
- No contact forms, newsletter sign-ups, or any way to submit your email
- No advertising and no ad-tracking networks
- Your data is never sold or shared with third parties for marketing
Links to other sites
Some lessons link out to tools mentioned as study aids, and the footer links to this course's support page and sister site: Duolingo, AnkiWeb, ItalianPod101, Buy Me a Coffee, and AllLevelsInglese. Once you click through, you're on their site, governed by their own privacy practices — worth a look if you're curious what they collect.
Affiliate links
None of the links on this site are currently affiliate or sponsored links — nobody earns a commission from any of the recommendations here. If that ever changes, any affiliate link will be clearly marked as such right where it appears, and this section will be updated to say so.
Your rights
Depending on where you're located, you may have rights over data collected about you — for example under the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or Switzerland's Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). Because this site collects, at most, anonymous aggregate analytics — some with your consent (Google Analytics), some always-on but fully anonymous (Cloudflare Web Analytics) — there's typically no personal data tied to you to request, correct, or delete here. Google, as one analytics provider, has its own tools for that; Cloudflare Web Analytics doesn't collect anything that could identify you in the first place.
Children's privacy
This course isn't specifically directed at children, and no personal data is knowingly collected from anyone of any age — there simply isn't anywhere on the site to submit it.
Changes to this policy
If what this site collects ever changes, this page will be updated and the "last updated" date above will change with it.
