Coming from B1? This course assumes you're comfortable with the congiuntivo (presente, passato, imperfetto, trapassato), ci/ne, trapassato prossimo, the full periodo ipotetico, passive voice, and discorso indiretto from Lessons 17–24. If any of that feels shaky, a quick review before diving in will make B2 much smoother. Haven't started yet? Begin the A1 course →, jump to A2 →, or jump to B1 →

The Approach
Built to actually stick
01
Precision, front and center
Rather than one dense lesson, B2's core skills — the gerundio, the passato remoto, register control — are each given full lessons of their own, building step by step.
02
Grammar you can picture
Every tense and structure gets a visual memory-map, not just a table to memorise.
03
Debates, not just dialogues
Lesson 32 puts everything to work in extended, opinionated conversations — the real test of B2 fluency.
04
A real path to C1
Lesson 32 closes with a full review and a clear picture of what's next after B2.
Questions
Frequently asked
Do I need to finish B1 before starting B2?
Yes. B2 assumes you already know the congiuntivo (presente, passato, imperfetto, trapassato) and its sequence-of-tenses rule, ci/ne, trapassato prossimo, the complete periodo ipotetico, passive voice, si passivante/impersonale, and discorso indiretto from A1–B1. If any of that feels shaky, a quick review first will make B2 much smoother.
What's new about Italian at the B2 level?
B2 is where Italian starts sounding genuinely literary and register-aware — the gerundio, the passato remoto, formal register control, and a much richer set of textual connectors for structuring written arguments. Lesson 25 covers the gerundio in detail.
Is this B2 course really free?
Yes. All 8 lessons are free to use, with no account, sign-up, or payment required.
How long does the B2 course take to complete?
Most learners complete a lesson in about an hour to ninety minutes, and the full 8-lesson course in a few weeks of regular practice — roughly 10 hours of core content in total.
What comes after Lesson 32?
Lesson 32 finishes with a full B2 review and mock exam. From there you're ready for C1 (Advanced) Italian, including idiomatic fluency and nuanced stylistic control.
Does this course work on mobile?
Yes, every lesson is fully responsive and designed to work down to small phone screens.
